    "It would have been nice for the library to have a calendar of events, or even a today's announcements area on the first floor - I accidentally walked into a lecture when I was trying to retrieve a book from the Hollins room, and then I had to quietly walk out again.​"

    Thanks for the suggestion. We do our best to put up signage when rooms are reserved or there are events in the library. That said, the Hollins Room is designed to be a venue for the entire campus and is scheduled by the university, so we do not control when the room is being used. A good rule of thumb: if the doors are open, you're probably okay to walk in. If they're not, proceed with caution.
