Every year the library orders hundreds of new books to add to our collection. Because of this, we have to shift the books on the stacks periodically to make space for the new ones. It can be frustrating to find a particular section has moved (we also get comfortable with books being in an exact spot), but we're shifting things for the best possible reason: more books!
