We agree! Research is like exercise, difficult the first time you do it, but if you keep practicing (or researching) it will get easier. Here are a few ways we can help make it easier to search for scholarly articles:
- Our databases can be viewed by subject. Go to the library homepage, "Articles & Databases tab", select the "All databases" link at the bottom of the gold box, then use the drop down menu to view suggested databases for your subject area.
- Stop by the reference desk. We have librarians at the reference desk from 10 am - 9 pm Monday - Thursday, and 10 am - 2 pm on Friday. The person at the desk is there for you! Ask them to help you find scholarly articles. If you're not in the building, you can chat with us online (click the "Ask the Library" button the homepage"), call us at 540-362-7465, email us at askref@hollins.edu, or text us at (540) 999-4821.
- Make an appointment with a subject librarian. Every subject area has a librarian who specializes in research for that discipline and you can make an appointment with a librarian to discuss your research! Go to "About Us" on the homepage, then select "Librarians by Subject" to find who to email, or email us at askref@hollins.edu and we will pass the message along to them.
