    "interlibrary loans- I requested something several times and never got any notice that it was here and when I would check the website it wouldn't even show that I had submitted a request /"

    Without knowing the specifics of this case, I can only guess that it may have been a failure of the system in notifying you that your material was here, and available for checkout.  In the future, please don’t hesitate to inquire about items you think should have arrived, or any problems you have accessing your ILL account.
